1. Company Details
Builds by James Ltd is a building and landscaping company registered in England and Wales (company number 16517521), providing services across Brighton and the surrounding areas of East Sussex. 2. Quotes and Pricing
- All quotes are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
- Quotes are based on the information provided at the time. If site conditions differ from those described, we reserve the right to revise the price before work begins.
3. Bookings and Cancellations
- Work is scheduled once a quote is accepted and a convenient time agreed.
- Please give at least 24 hours notice if you need to change or cancel an appointment. Late cancellations may incur a call-out charge to cover travel and reserved time.
- We reserve the right to reschedule appointments due to circumstances outside our control, with as much notice as possible.
4. Workmanship
- All work is carried out to a professional standard in line with relevant industry guidelines.
- We carry appropriate public liability insurance. Details are available on request.
- Any defects in workmanship reported within 12 months of completion will be rectified free of charge, provided the work has not been altered or damaged by others.
5. Materials
- Materials remain the property of Builds by James Ltd until payment is received in full.
- Materials are selected and supplied in line with the agreed quotation. Natural products such as stone, timber and other landscaping materials may vary in colour, texture, size and appearance.
- Where a customer supplies their own materials, Builds by James Ltd cannot be held responsible for defects, shortages, delays or suitability issues relating to those materials.
6. Payment
- Payment is due on completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- We accept bank transfer and cash. Card payments may be arranged by prior agreement.
- Late payment may result in suspension of any ongoing support or maintenance.
7. Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out. We are not liable for any indirect losses, including loss of profit or business interruption. Building and landscaping work can sometimes uncover conditions that could not reasonably have been identified before work commenced, particularly below ground; where this happens we will discuss any effect on cost or timescale with you before continuing wherever reasonably possible.
8. Website Use
This website is provided for information purposes. We take reasonable care to keep it accurate and up to date, but cannot guarantee that all information is complete or current at all times.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
